Em suma, nossa proposta é contribuir para os estudos sobre os efeitos práticos da Lei de Drogas na contemporaneidade, com base em um ponto incomum, um acontecimento excêntrico. A metodologia adotada é de caráter qualitativo, fazendo-se uso da interlocução com policiais que atuaram no registro do referido caso e, também, de entrevistas semiestruturadas para a composição do texto. Abstract: This paper aims to describe and interpret police practices and their social and sociological developments from a case that oc- curred and was caught in the law, initially for alleged violation of the Drug Law (11,343 / 2006). From the narrative construction of this very unusual episode in police work aimed at a suspected cocaine trafficker in a city in the interior of Rio de Janeiro state, we intend to discuss the effects of police practices in relation to those that violate the current legal regulations built apparently with the intention of regulating and curbing the circulation of illicit “drugs”. In short, our proposal is to contribute to studies on the practical effects of the Drug Law in con- temporary times, illuminating them from an unusual point, an eccentric event. The methodology adopted is qualitative, making use of dialo- gue with police officers who acted in the registration of the case, and also semi-structured interviews for the composition of the text. Introdução A lei que regula a produção, circulação,mercados e consumo de plantas e substâncias classificadas como drogas – no Brasil, a Lei nº 11.343, datada de 2006 – tipifica o “tráfico” e “uso” como crime. Contudo, atribui maior pena aos sujeitos incriminados como traficantes (que, em tese, praticam o mercado), em relação àqueles enquadrados como usuários (que, em tese, praticam o consumo).
